So I left it. That line was one of my favorites. It's amazing how difficult I find it to write humor in fiction. Couple things: The lack of contractions in Stivins's speech seems a bit forced, like he's trying too hard. And the commentary about Wall's anachronistic references was almost meta. Couple things:

The lack of contractions in Stivins’s speech seems a bit forced, like he’s trying too hard. And the commentary about Wall’s anachronistic references was almost meta. But that’s just nit-picky.

Loved the line about, “Is this going to make me get loud?” VERY in character!
