Dave - I have had it, a few times, but obviously the distinction between ground and powdered was lost on me.

Simon - I was pretty sure what Doug's "condition" was going to be when I started this yarn. Not entirely sure yet what it will be, but it should be fun getting there.

If you'll notice, Polly welcomes Doug to the office by saying, "How are you this evening?"

The dream sequence is one I've been tweaking here and there for quite some time. In fact, that scene and the scene with Doug and Steve originally were the beginning of a story called, "Dark," which was to be mainly about Doug. That story may still come to pass. The bit about him in the office I wrote later.

Moksha - Thanks for the compliment. I was going for creepy and for suspected vampirism. Two points!

All - I just figured out driving into the garage today how all these characters' stories are going to come together.

Excellent chapter, Mark. The dream sequence was, in deed, rather creepy and certianly does get the reader contemplating vampirism. Also, the writing in this chatper seems particularly crisp. Nice work. I have no idea what's going on here...but I'm looking forward to the next chapter.

Doug's really a vampire, isn't he? And he's just giving Steve the coffee to lull him into a false sense of relaxation before he totally goes for the jugular. I've seen this happen a thousand times before. Well, maybe once. In a movie.

So how did Doug get to his cubicle in the last chapter? Because he was allowed to set his own hours, does that mean he works nights? Or only when it's cloudy? Or WHAT?!

Loved the intro to this one. The "consecrate me" bits were great, I thought. Good dream sequence.

I love Turkish coffee, but it's not really ground, it's actually powdered (if you've had it).

I absolutely love it.. and there's a definite trick to making it that a friend of mine showed me (he's of Turkish decent(sp)).
